Just got back from the first practice session.... not that I can't play...but have not played in Bad Manners for 13 years and touring is very different from playing in the local bar.
I practice at a 10,000 square foot warehouse near Olathe Medical Center. It belongs to a friend who owns Bark to Basics, a dog food distributorship. So I play amongst the cans.
I am using my old Pearl Drum kit. It's an old export that I covered in cow hide, and sort of Tamla Mootown kit. I bought it at Explorers Drums on Wornall here in Kansas City 10 years ago. Explorers is the place, run by Wes and his crew.

I am cracking up reading this and seeing the pic above. Call me a holdout rude girl from the 80s NYC who has been transplanted to NM. I am now a Veterinarian. I buy from Bark to Basics for my holistic Vet practice. It is nice to know the stuff I buy has ben christened with a lovely beat. I'll see you in a few weeks in Santa Fe. Cheers.
